Emails from Social Security and Scams

If you receive an e-mail that says it is from Social Security and is asking for personal information - DON’T RESPOND!! The Social Security Administration will not request personal information such as your Social Security number, date of birth or other private information via e-mail. If you receive an e-mail and you are not sure it is legitimate - make sure to conact your local Social Security office or call 800-772-1213.
